deLorimier Winery was founded by Dr. Alfred deLorimier in 1986. As a ground breaking pediatric surgeon in San Francisco, Dr. deLorimier was seeking a place away from the city and fell in love with the Alexander Valley. His vision was to create a brand focused on California Bordeaux’s. The 1986 vintage consisted of two Bordeaux style blends, our Spectrum Sauvignon Blanc and Mosaic Meritage, which we still produce over 35 years later.
In 1991, Dr. deLorimier purchased the Crazy Creek vineyard on Geysers Road, in the heart of Alexander Valley. He planted 30 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, later becoming one of our flagship wines in 2002. Most recently the 2016 vintage won the most prestigious red sweepstakes title at the 2020 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. The judges deemed the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon the best red wine in America that year.
In 2008, Ken and Diane Wilson, were excited for the opportunity to add deLorimier to their portfolio. With its beautiful courtyard, estate vineyards and spacious production facility, it was the perfect addition to their family of wineries. With Diane Wilson and Antoine Favero collaborating on winemaking, they expanded the wine portfolio to include a wide range of varietals, such as Primitivo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Sangiovese and Petite Sirah.
